The formal atmosphere that engulfed the Day Care Mass Recognition Ceremony at Villasis Auditorium on March 29, 2011 turned euphoric when Congresswoman Kimi Cojuangco and Mayor Libradita appeared. As the two waved on their way to the stage, excited parents and Day Care children enthusiastically cheered their welcome.
In her speech, Congresswoman Cojuangco praised the parents who work hard to send their children to school. She recounted that when her children were yet young as the Day Care kids in the auditorium, attending their graduation ceremony always gave her the feeling that she was the one who graduated. “For all the parents, it is just the beginning but it is also a day to remember, and hopefully, your children’s schooling continues. Asahan ninyo na nandito kami ng inyong mayora para tulungan kayo especially sa edukasyon ng inyong mga anak” (expect that your mayor and I will be here to help you especially on the education of your children) the Congresswoman said.
In wrapping, she said that she was able to induce the Department of Social Works and Development Secretary (DSWD) Secretary, Dinky Soliman, to subsidize the daily milk ration for all Day Care Centers in the district that will start on school opening which is on June, 2011. It is the wish of the Congresswoman that inasmuch as the kids are given the rightful education, it is also imperative that they be given also the nourishment to help them grow and stay healthy.
After the graduation ceremony, a free drink of milk, fresh from the dairy farm in Laoac, was served to the children and everyone inside the auditorium followed, courtesy of the Congresswoman. Congresswoman Kimi and Mayor Dita captured the parents and children’s hearts when they took the time with them on the floor for photographs.
